Collect for Holy Cross Day
(14 September)
Almighty God,
who in the passion of your blessed Son
made an instrument of painful death
to be for us the means of life and peace:
grant us so to glory in the cross of Christ
that we may gladly suffer for his sake;
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

Bible Study
we will be meeting during Black History Month using the four-part Anti-Racism Charter Parish study resource. This will be at 7.30 p.m. at Holy Trinity on Thursdays 9, 16, 23 and 30 October, and all are welcome.
(14 September 2025)

Prayers for the clergy
Please keep all our clergy in your prayers: Mark as he is currently one of the two Acting Archdeacons during Simon Gates' sabbatical (1 September to 15 December), Alison as she prepares for retirement, and Mary as she continues to settle into our parish.
(7 September 2025)

Alison's retirement
Earlier this year it was announced that Alison would be retiring in the autumn. Her last Sunday with us will be 5 October. Alison has been Team Vicar since 2016 and although she is based at Christ Church and St John's, she was a great support during the Team Rector vacancy, and her ministry will be missed by the whole team.
If you would like to contribute towards a gift for Alison, please see any of the Churchwardens to make a cash or contactless contribution.
(17 August 2025)

Preparation for Admission to Communion
Preparation sessions for Admission to Communion will begin in the autumn for children in school years 3 and above. Please let the clergy know if your child would like to prepare for this.
(20 July 2025)

Merton Priory – Lost and Found!
Scott McCracken (distinguished archaeologist) was at the centre of the unique projects that found the Merton Priory Chapter House and worked to preserve it. On Saturday, 27 September at 2.30 p.m. he will share some of his memories from this time in a free event at the Chapter House. Tea will be served afterwards. Limited to 120 places – please book on the Eventbrite website.
