Almighty God,
in Christ you make all things new:
transform the poverty of our nature by the riches of your grace,
and in the renewal of our lives
make known your heavenly glory;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

Welcome to St John the Divine, Merton
We welcome and encourage all people to worship God with us. St John's is part of the
Merton Priory Team Ministry.
Whether or not you are new to the area, you are most welcome to join us in our acts of worship
and share in our Anglican tradition.

The Archbishop of York has written an Epiphany Letter to all members of the Church of England. The full letter can be found
on his website.

Curate News
Simon. Simon's licensing at Christ Church Streatham
will take place on Thursday, 13 February at 7.30 p.m. He would love to have folk from Merton Priory there!
Please email him directly if you would like to attend.
Mary Kilikidi. It was recently announced in churches that Mary Kilikidi is to join
the Team as Curate in the summer. Mary is Russian of Greek heritage and she spent most of her
adult life in Russia. She studied theology and philosophy in Moscow prior to moving to Devon in 2021.
In 2022 she started her training at Westcott House. Coming from Orthodox and Lutheran traditions, Mary
is interested in ecumenism and hopes to use her knowledge and experience in her ministry.
Mary is passionate about inclusion and has done some work in this field at her church attachment in Cambridge.
Another passion of hers is trauma theology and learning the ways of how a church community can become trauma-informed
and how it can serve those who have experienced trauma. Mary co-authored a liturgical book for trauma-informed and
trauma-oriented worship which is expected to be published in summer 2025. In her free time Mary likes travelling
and is interested in photography and history. Mary is excited about serving as a curate at Merton Priory and is
looking forward to serving the community.

Gracious and loving God,
We give thanks for the faithful ministry of our curate,
For the guidance, compassion, and wisdom he has shared among us.
Bless him abundantly as he begins his new calling as vicar,
May he continue to lead with grace, strength, and humility.
Be with our church community in this time of transition,
Fill us with hope and unity as we await the arrival of a new curate.
Grant us patience and open hearts to welcome new leadership,
And inspire us to remain steadfast in our mission and service.
Guide us all with Your Holy Spirit,
That we may walk in faith and love, trusting in Your perfect timing.
In Jesus' name, we pray.
